heating systems for a warming world |
Geothermal heating systems can be configured in many ways |
GeHeat specialise in installing systems to sites with restricted access, sites with mature gardens where minimal disruption and damage is desirable and sites where the available space for a ground loop is limited |
Suffolk An end of terrace cottage with garage that has a mature garden with lawn and fruit trees. Maintaining the garden space was important, but in any event there was insufficient land to install a horizontal system.
The solution: a four pipe vertical borehole system (those clever Germans innovate again). Drilled to 56m depth using our purpose built demountable hydraulic drill rig. The rig takes some time to assemble and is slower to drill than a heavy duty truck mounted rig. The upside is that less than 4sq m of lawn need to be re seeded, the fruit trees are all intact and there are no deep track marks over the garden.
The ground source heat pump is located in the garage. The heat pump is connected in to the existing plumbing within the house and the combustion boiler has been left in commission as ‘back up’. We don’t think that it’ll ever be fired up again.
The whole job, supplied installed and commissioned by us, including borehole, heat pump, pipe work, valves and 7kW heat pump with desuperheater for less than £8,000 inc vat |
